anCnoc and Albert go back a long way. In fact, Knockdhu had been in production for less than 30 years when Albert was born, and he's lived just a few miles from the distillery all his life.
One of his abiding memories of the place is the stationing of an Indian Army unit there during the Second World War, and he recalls being entertained by the weekly public horse-riding displays staged by these glamorous visitors.
A lifelong farmer who describes himself as only "semi-retired" as he approaches his mid-80s, Albert is very much our man on the spot when it comes to local knowledge.
