Seven questions for the Seven Men of Knock

1. When did you start work at Knockdhu?
December 1991. I still remember how welcome I was made to feel. My links with the distillery actually go back a lot further than that with my grandfather working here in the early days.

2. Best thing about the job?
Everything!

3. Favourite pastime when not making anCnoc Single Malt?
Spending time with my family, and keeping my garden in order. I also enjoy a game of badminton in the winter months.

4. Best way to enjoy anCnoc?
Until recently I'd have said with a drop of water, but I've been introduced to whisky cocktails and anCnoc works really well in them, especially with half a squeezed lime, some ginger ale and ice.

5. Who would you most like to share a glass of anCnoc with?
My wife and I were away with friends not long ago and I took a bottle of anCnoc with me. We shared a dram in my room as it was £5 for a whisky at the hotel bar! Someone else I'd like to share a dram with is Kenny Dalglish, who was my boyhood idol. I reckon he conveys some of the attributes of anCnoc - unique and unforgettable!

6. What gives anCnoc Single Malt its unique quality?
Traditional methods passed down through the decades; the fact that worms are still used as our means of condensing; the warehouses where the whisky is stored and matured.

7. Seven words to sum up a Man of Knock?
A conscientious, reliable and committed team member.
