Seven questions for the Seven Men of Knock

1. When did you start work at Knockdhu?
Some would say I still haven't started! Officially it was December 1991. It runs in the family, with my father and two other relatives also having worked here. My father put the 1975 casks into the warehouse and I put them out for the bottling.

2. Best thing about the job?
Seeing the whole process through, from malt coming in to mature whisky leaving the distillery. I also like to see anCnoc in places like airports and thinking 'I'm part of that'.

3. Favourite pastime when not making anCnoc Single Malt?
I like nothing better than treading the fairways of a golf course and spending time with my family.

4. Best way to enjoy anCnoc?
With a little water or ice.

5. Who would you most like to share a glass of anCnoc with?
A dram with all the guys at Knock would be the best way to enjoy a product we all had a hand in making. Given my passion for golf, I'd also love to share a glass of anCnoc with Colin Montgomerie, while sitting in the R&A clubhouse at St Andrews, looking over the Old Course.

6. What gives anCnoc Single Malt its unique quality?
The shape of the stills and the low turnover of staff.

7. Seven words to sum up a Man of Knock?
Motivated, skilful. friendly, conscientious , unflappable, dependable, quality.
