02.07.08: May-Day Monday 2008...
On Mayday Monday, 2008, my wife and I went to the annual Car-Boot sale held in the Market Muir Park in Huntly, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
While I was strolling round the car boot sales tables looking at the wide variety of articles for sale, I saw a bottle of anCnoc 12-year-old whisky on display on one of the stall tables. Seeing my favourite tipple on display outwith licensed premises, I had to enquire the reason why.
I did not recognise the lady in charge of the stall but Mrs Wendy Dingwall the wife of Ian who is a Shift Operator at Knockdhu Distillery appeared and she informed me that they were raising money for Breast Cancer, a very worthy cause indeed.
I asked why anCnoc whisky and Wendy said, "Well! It's simply the best".
There's nae quibble there. ( No dispute about that statement).
To try and win this lovely bottle, I had to hand over a pound and put my name and phone number into a numbered square. The winning square is predetermined so there is no cheating. I must have put my name down on the wrong square because I did not win.
It was really nice to see our anCnoc brand name whisky on display as a prize for a competition for a change.
