How did anCnoc Peaty come to be?

Over the last 20 years of growth in the Scotch Whisky Industry there has been a revival of different styles and tastes, including peaty, and in 2003 at the Knockdhu distillery, production using more heavily peated malt began.

The whisky was filled into bourbon casks that year and left quietly to mature in the traditional dunnage warehouses at Knockdhu, taking in the soft Highland air. Now, 8–10 years later, anCnoc Peaty has bottled, ready to be enjoyed.

PPM

Unlike most other Peated Whisky anCnoc’s Peaty range displays the phenol content in parts per million (ppm) on every bottle, helping you select the peaty taste to suit your palate.

Peat Cutting Tools

Peat cutting tools have been used traditionally for many hundreds of years and have an important role to play in the production of this important fuel. Each of our Peaty expressions carries the name of one of these tools, bringing them to the forefront as the unsung heroes.

Casks

American Oak casks are used for maturing the anCnoc Peaty range.
